Since Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in a white wedding gown with flower girls also adorned in white, the white girls dress remains the absolutely correct choice for any flower girl. A young girl asked to be a flower girl will most likely be quite excited about her flower girl dress. Sadly, many flower girls are disappointed to find they will be wearing a white flower dress. It seems girls prefer their favorite color or at least some color! This is especially the case when older girls and bridesmaids are wearing mature, fashionable dresses in color. However, today's huge selection and styles for the white flower dress include an ever increasing number with color option sashes and flowers.

When our business opened its doors as a special event clothing boutique for children, flower girl dresses were comparable to christening gowns. Most were very traditional and very white. The white flower dress was available for purchase with an attached white sash, white lace, and perhaps white floral accents. This was more than 10 years ago. Today, almost every style of white flower dresses we offer has options to consider. Sashes are no longer sewn into the waistline of the dress; they now slip through loops at the waist on either side. Sashes are easily removed and replaced with a rainbow selection of colored sashes.
