Prices You Should Pay For A MySpace Profile Design

Posted: Wednesday, November 16, 2011
What This Article Will Cover

This article will be about the prices of MySpace Profile Design. Some MySpace Designers will charge you a lot of cash for this and some will charge you too small while some will be reasonable. You really do need to know about the prices of a MySpace Profile Design and so I have created this article for you lucky readers. This is based on my knowledge and is my personal opinions from working with clients, I have found clients are happy to pay more money if it means they get a good design and a reliable MySpace Designer. So many times have I seen MySpace Designers rip people off and those clients that got ripped off (not by me, by other designers) have came to me asking if I can help them with their current design which was created badly by the previous MySpace Designer, I don't like to deal with that because it is hard trying to edit a design created by someone else as everyone designs and codes different it is also not fair on the client.

Prices You Should Be Paying

The price you should be looking to pay for a MySpace Profile Design is no less than £100 and no more than £300. This is about $300 - $600 but that is just an estimate, check online or do the maths to work out the exact conversion rate.

How I know what you should be paying

I have worked with quite a lot of clients when it comes to MySpace, sometimes just updating, changing their Profile or fixing their Profile when things have gone wrong, sometimes making a complete profile for them. I have also spent a lot of time researching MySpace Profile Design and have also witnessed how long it can take to produce a design for a client. It is far worse than creating a website, due to you having to work around MySpace code, it can take a lot of time but in the end a website will usually take longer unless it is a small website. MySpace Profile Design can take from 3 hours and above, this is for a MySpace Profile Design that is designed professionally and uses a lot of graphic design skills, simple profiles and DIY profile editors take a few minutes. The reason this can take so long is a) advanced MySpace profile design can be time consuming and hard work depending on how MySpace is that day, sometimes it is hell, sometimes it is not. b) the clients requirements and the amount of times they ask for something changed, not only does this take a while it can be frustrating as you and the client are not always online at the same time, you may live in the uk while they live in america, I usually get replies fast but sometimes it is hell trying to get in touch and you have to refer to messages and just wait for the reply which then takes a day or more which is why the time to complete the profile can seem like a long time.

Why You Should Be Paying This Much

You should be paying the prices mentioned for several reasons. The first and most important reason is to make sure you are not getting yourself into trouble, for instance, a cheap price might look good at first but trust me on this, "you get what you pay for" and sometimes you don't actually get anything, pay cheap, expect cheap. Cheap prices to me suggests bad designs and / or bad company / MySpace designer. The reason I think that is simple, why would someone have cheap prices in a job that can take hours upon hours to complete, the MySpace designer is the one who has to get in touch with the client, find the requirements, make changes, get in touch with the client to actually make the changes, the MySpace Designer does more than just design, there is actually more work outside of graphic design involved, any MySpace Designer who doesn't do the running about asking questions is usually a cheap MySpace Designer who wants to make some quick cash out of you and then get out of there as fast as possible. They do not want to look after their clients, they just want to make quick cash, get out fast and don't care about the clients requirements at all. No names mentioned, and other MySpace Designers may slate me for this article, others may not, they might know exactly what I am talking about, they might agree with my prices, they might not, I see some MySpace Designers charging way too much money but let's not get into a fight about this. These are my personal opinions from many years of research into the MySpace and graphic design industry. I want YOU to understand the reasons behind my prices, and the reasons behind the suggested prices above and why paying too little or too much can be a bad thing.

How To Find A Good MySpace Designer

This to me is simple but to others not so simple. My clients will usually have no clue about graphic design and will usually tell me to just design freely. One client said "your the designer, do your thing!" That is actually the hardest requirement to work to, it isn't a requirement it basically means I think, see if the client likes it, if not many hours wasted, if does then take it further and complete it. Although that method is fun I do not like it, but to strengthen it I ask them questions in ways I hope they understand, try to make it as straight forward as possible, no computer jargon. This is one way you can tell if you have a good MySpace Designer or not, good MySpace Designers will work with you, ask you lots of questions until they understand your requirements, they will then tell you what will happen and if you agree with the prices, the terms and conditions the MySpace Designer will begin work and show you samples at various stages of the design and if you like it they will take it further, if not they will change things and start a fresh design. Another way to find a good MySpace Designer is again by the prices, if they appear to cheap to you, or if they are much cheaper than other MySpace Designers then this tells you one thing, be very careful, research a lot about them before working with them, in some cases they are good MySpace Designers with cheap prices but in most cases this is a no no in my opinion. Prices that are over the top are usually a) good designers who are not cheap and have the highest prices they can. b) out to rip you off and produce poor graphics while earning a lot of cash, YOUR CASH. These are the main methods of finding a good MySpace Designer, checking the background of the company, designer can also help, see how long they have been designing for, if they are a new company be careful. Talk to the MySpace Designer before ordering, say you are interested in some work but would like to investigate a bit first, or get to know the designer, investigate isn't a very friendly word, earn each others trust then get work from them if you must. Make sure they have a contact page and an about me page, if a MySpace Designer lacks these then to me that is a big put off. When you get replies from message or emails make sure (if email) that it is the email that you sent a message to. Also be sure to make sure they have a terms and conditions page, and a privacy policy. This is important, MySpace Designers will need to know some of your details, especially when sending a message to one, usually they will require your name and email, it is important for a MySpace Designer to explain how your information is used and it is important that they have terms and conditions, the client must understand that extra work will cost more money, how much they charge per hour if they require more work etc etc. Each terms and conditions of a MySpace Designer varies and they usually create them on their own so it is really IMPORTANT that you read and agree to the terms and conditions otherwise you could be paying out a lot of cash, if they do not have a terms and conditions or do not show you it at anytime, get away, do not work with them, you may end up paying a lot more than you thought you would. There is also one more thing to mention, some MySpace Designers do not show prices, this is usually a good thing, it usually means they treat each client different, and base the price on their requirements, meaning your paying for exactly what you want at a price suited only to you, we use base prices and then determine the workload and give you a set price of how much it will cost, kind of the same as a quote system the only difference is we give a base price so you have an estimate of how much it is going to cost, (the least that is, it could cost more, but we will never charge more than stated in this article for a design, it's that simple).

Further Help

Well if you read this far then your obviously concerned about which MySpace Designer to go with, let me end this by saying I hope this article helped clear a few things up, I have probably missed some things knowing my memory but right now I can not think of anything I have missed, if you need any more help then feel free to get in touch with me via my website or MySpace.
